iPhones are in fact, not built to last. Apple is hugely anti-right-to-repair and makes fixing certain iPhone components either unnecessarily hard or impossible, some component such as screens or fingerprint scanners being rendered useless upon replacement without serial flashing

Guys, the support document in the showing note says that • throttling is only enabled if an iPhone experiences an unexpected shut down • in they case you get notified and provided with an option to turn it off • throttling stops if you just replace the battery The CN isn’t right

The Note currently rated helpful is incorrect. Apple was fined not for the slowdowns, but because they didnt inform users. That has been rectified. www.bbc.com/news/technology-51413724 Second, the slowdown is now optional. It helps sustainably by making phones with old batteries not shut down at random times. support.apple.com/en-us/HT208387
