Russia colonized and conquered Siberia throughout the 17th and 18th century, long before European countries began to conquer Africa. Also unlike the European countries mentioned, Russia still owns its conquered lands in Siberia to this day. [Link] [Link]

The areas in pink are bodies of water, not uncolonized countries. Two African countries were not colonized by Europe: Liberia (set up by the American Colonization Society as a homeland for freed slaves) and Ethiopia (although occupied by Fascist Italy from 1936-41). [Link]

[Link] The Russian Empire was the third largest in the world. It colonised territories adjacent to its original kingdom. The only overseas land it conquered was Alaska, which it later sold to the US. The current Russian state consists of numerous ethnic groups.
