The guns weren't confiscated. But there was a threat of severe penalties after the 12 month amnesty if they didnt comply with the buy back program, so the notes stating they were voluntarily surrendered are as misleading as the tweet. The post is convincing that if citizens surrender guns there is no mass shooting while failing to provide direct and sufficient evidence for this correlation.
