Note would benefit from mentioning that Great Britain's 'ending of slavery' was a reimbursement for slave owners, after slave abolitionists successfully won a trade ban, and later liberation for themselves.

The UK was, by 1807, one of the first major countries to end Trans-Atlantic slave trade and succesfully made other European countries do the same. However, the British carried >3,2M people accross the ocean, only Portugal carried more throughout history. [Link]
