NNN. Nowhere does the original post claim that the cathedral took 632 consecutive years to build, only that it took that time to COMPLETE.

Heinrich Heine was extremely critical towards the completion of the Cologne Cathedral. The full Caput IV of his poem "Germany. A Winter's tale." is a mockery of the idea of completing the cathedral. It even includes the sentence: "It was never finished - and that is good". [Link]
