Even if the information given it's wrong, the note trying to fact check the claim is linking an article that only takes into account the percentage of people that has donated money to a charity not the actual amount given by the whole country. [Link]

According to Philanthropy Roundtable, 39% of US donations go to religion. The religious, however, still give more to secular causes. 65% of churchgoers give to secular causes (avg. $711) vs 50% of non churchgoers (avg. $593). The average given to religious causes is $2,224. [Link]
