This map does not accurately depict the European Parliament, which serves as the legislative body of the EU. The map includes several countries that are not EU members, such as Switzerland, Norway, and the UK. [Link]

NNN - The map and plug types are correct. Counties can still be in Europe without being in the European Union (Switzerland, Norway, United Kingdom, etc). [Link] [Link]

NNN. While snarky in tone, the socket types shown are correct and include the Euro area. If people want to argue the point thats for the replies.

Map include EU and not-EU countries. Legacy sockets has been addressed since 1975 in EU with CEE 7/16 plug "Europlug" for low power appliance. It fits most EU sockets, excluded Ireland, Malta and Cyprus that has the british type G. It may fit certain Swiss type-J sockets. [Link] [Link]

All plugs depicted were made long before the founding of the EU in 1993, as far back as as the late 1920s. CEE 7 also includes plugs with wider compatiblity (e.g. CEE 7/16 Alt II, "Europlug"), which also preceeds the EU. The map also includes non-EU countries. [Link]
