The headline is misleading. This is a biological woman who had a mastectomy prior to becoming pregnant. She still had her uterus and was fully capable of basic human reproduction. There is nothing "rare" about this. [Link] [Link]

This is a woman who got a mastectomy, not a ‘rare seahorse dad’ [Link] [Link]

NNN: Trans men, definitionally, are people assigned female at birth. Any "well, biologically, a woman" CN is redundant. The "rare" "seahorse dad" label is defined in the article as people who identify as trans men becoming pregnant/having children. [Link]

Gametes are reproductive cells. Females have egg cells and male have sperm. Male seahorses have male gametes as other males on Earth. In comparison, a 'Seahorse dad' is a pregnant transgender man. They retain female gametes despite the transition and can do get pregnant. [Link] [Link]

Note explaining why context isn't needed is incorrect. Sex, let alone gender, is not "assigned at birth". It is observed and recorded like race and weight. The differences between "assigned" and "observed" are very important in this context of the transgender debate. [Link]

The headline is purposely misleading. Male human beings cannot give birth under any circumstance ever. The person that gave birth is a female and always will be a female, no matter how many people say differently. The source of this information is reality. Www.reality.com

NNN. It is rare for trans men to get pregnant because that doesn't align with their gender identity. As per the article, this would be the first case in Italy if they decide to continue the pregnancy. Misgendering them and repeating GC rhetoric is also biased language.

The post is correct. Trans men are men. Community notes are not a place for transphobia [Link]

NNN, no matter of your opinion (that shouldn't be voiced on CN, but your own account), people will call trans men "trans men" and it is objectively rare for someone who identifies as a man (even if they're biologically female) to get pregnant mostly due to gender dysphoria

NNN Community notes are not a place for transphobia. The person referred to here is a trans MAN, as stated in the headline, so at least have the decency to refer to him with the correct pronouns. Trans men are men. [Link]

NNN. for one even if the seahorse dad terminology was misleading there is no reason at all to misgender. grow up. [Link] ...and two, the terminology ISN'T misleading. a seahorse dad literally means a trans man who is/wants to be pregnant. [Link]
