[Link] Palestine is not a 'concept just from the 1950s. The 'region' of Palestine has existed for centuries and it was only it's partition after WW2 that created the State of Israel, along with the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The people who are now called Palestinians were called Arabs until the 1960s. Arafat introduced the term Palestinian and thereby helped define the identity of the Palestinians. This is the concept that Visegrád 24 writes about. [Link]
