This is misleading because it completely ignores inflation. If inflation was taken into account the £15K in 2010 would be worth £22k in 2024. £22k would attract tax of £2,964. [Link] [Link]

A person in 2024 earning £15,000 would have been earning only £10,201 in 2010 thus the comparison is invalid. [Link]

The note clarifying how much tax is paid on a salary of £22 000 as compared to 2010 is misleading. £2638 in tax today is the equivalent of paying £1794 in 2010 [Link]
