The Palestinian Arabs didn’t “open the doors to Jewish refugees” for two reasons: 1) Palestine was ruled by the UK mandate government. 2) There were many severe instances of violence against Jews by Palestinian Arabs. E.g. [Link]

Many Jews are native to Palestine, and also several waves of Jewish immigrants did come through. Palestinians (Different religions and ethnicities) welcomed Jewish migrants, with violence entrenching only following what was seen as attempts to colonise, not settlement. [Link]
