Hoveida refused to leave Iran when he had the chance. On Feb. 11, after the Shah had been overthrown, Mr. Hoveida turned himself over to the Islamic revolutionary forces. The army garrison in Teheran where he was held prisoner had been seized and most other detainees escaped. [Link]
