The PC you have probably uses an SSD, so physical wear is not a problem [Link] Windows restarts your PC to install updates automatically, and it is turned on by default [Link] It’s not a waste of electricity if your PC has proper support for low power sleep modes. [Link]

NNN as hard drives are still commonly used, updates are often missed or delayed when leaving a pc running, the electricity waste is still a factor when a device is in sleep mode, and other components like fans will wear faster if constantly running.

NNN, electricity constantly running through any electrical component will wear them all out eventually. The biggest concern, however, is the PSU. In sleep mode, it's still running; too much of this can cause it to become unstable and potentially overload, damaging the entire PC.

NNN - The note is factually incorrect. 1. Hard Disk do wear out quite faster when running as they are mechanical, and most hard disks are not made for 24/7 runtime. 2. The PC will still eat more power than when it is switched off. 3. A lot of Windows updates require a reboot.
