Khelif is not transgender, but has a disorder of sex development, she thus has XY chromosomes and testosterone levels typical of a male. She had a puberty of a male which gives skeletal advantage and faster twitch muscle. With the exception of genitalia, Khelif is a male. [Link]

NNN. You’ve taken the fact that Khelif has an intersex condition, and speculated about which DSD she might have. And then you’ve presented your speculation as if it were fact. The reality is that you don’t know which DSD Khelif has; you’re just guessing.

Khelif denies that the IBA ever tested her karyotype, and declared her to be XY simply to disqualify her. Either way, no tests have been made public. Until then, assuming her to NOT be intersex, as she claims, is more likely due to the rarity of the condition. NNN.

NNN: Keep the transphobia out of community notes. Bigotry can be added in the comments.

If Khelif has a 46,XY DSD which one is not known but as an example AIS is the most common and while people w AIS may have “elevated” levels of testosterone, their body is not able to respond to it. Therefore, testosterone levels may very well be irrelevant. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK279170 www.nhs.uk/conditions/androgen-insensitivity-syndrome/

NNN. The notes claim the athlete has XY sex chromosomes. The IBA has not confirmed a chromosome or testosterone test and the athlete has not released this info. [Link] Moreover, cis women/females with XY chromosome patterns exist. [Link] The OP has made no factually incorrect claims.

"Imane Khelif fell foul of International Boxing Association (IBA) eligibility rules that prevent athletes with XY chromosomes from competing in women's events (...) Biologically, genetically, they're going to have more advantages, and in combat sports, it can be dangerous" [Link]

Thriving Nutmeg Heron just misses the point of the post to argue a separate point. She was born as, assigned as, physiologically is, and identifies as, a woman. The IBA stance has no bearing on anything except her ability tp play in IBA leagues, which wasnt mentioned at all by OP

NNN, she didn't have a male puberty, male puberty includes significant voice change, growth of testicles and scrotum and many more that she did not experience. [Link]

Proposed notes don't contradict the factual statement that Khelif was born, is legally considered, and identifies as cisgender female. NNN. Also: The note submitted by Superb Garden Toucan cites Zero Hedge – a far-right website – as a source, and is not fit for a community note.

Proposed note is contradicted by it's own source which despite its right lean reports that Imane is considered female on her passport, Imane is Algerian, where it is not legal to transition and where there is no process for legal gender change. [Link]

The only organisation to suggest that Imane Khelif is not female is the International Boxing Association, which has been discredited due to its links with the Russian government. The IBA is in conflict with the IOC and Russia is barred from this year's Olympics. [Link]

NNN. Testing for intersex conditions is highly controversial due to the amount of ppl who are discovered to be intersex. Sex traits, such a chromosomes, on their own do not denote sex. There are over 30 known intersex conditions, which all affect people differently. [Link]
