"Olympic" is an adjective to describe any event at Olympics Games but there is no word called "Olympic" if you are referring to the Athletes at the Olympics. They actually called "Olympian" the athletes that qualified to compete at "Olympic Games" or "Olympics". [Link]

Besides being pedantic and unnecessary, the proposed note isn’t even correct. “Olympic” is an adjective describing anything relating to the Olympics, including athletes. [Link]
