Whilst the UK Media does often seem to follow the government line, it is subject to controls from OFCOM, who regulate and fines outlets for bias and other issues; ultimately, resulting in a seemingly uniform approach to controversial topics, to avoid non-compliance. [Link] [Link]

The BBC, Sky News, and Channel Four news, follow generally leftist political line - as for "Ofcom", the regulator, it also follows a generally leftist political line - it has the same belief system as most of the stations it regulates. The newspapers are split politically.
