Walz served in the military for 24 years, enlisting in the Nebraska National Guard at 17 in 1981 and then transferring to the Minnesota National Guard in 1996. He retired in 2005 to run for the US House. His battalion went on to deploy to Iraq shortly after Walz's retirement. [Link]

OP doesn’t call into question the length of military career, only that Walz quit on his platoon before he was scheduled to deploy to Iraq. This has been proven many times over. This link is one source. [Link]

NNN: Walz own battalion is quoted in saying that he retired after hearing they would be deployed, saying that they left them hanging high and dry. [Link]

Tim Walz did not leave the National Guard after receiving orders to deploy. His retirement was approved in May 2025. His unit received orders to deploy in July 2005 and deployed in March 2006. [Link] [Link]

NNN - a Command Sergeant Major would know about a deployment order before it became official, so the fact that his retirement was approved shortly before his unit received the orders to deploy is irrelevant. Also, OP is asking a question, not stating a fact or even an opinion.
