Russia violated Ukrainian sovereign territory in February 2022 and has waged an unlawful war since then, killing thousands of civilian. The "escalation" was caused by Russian aggression, not by Ukraine's exercise of its right to self-defence. [Link]

Russia alone escalated this conflict when it invaded Ukraine. ‘Stop the war’ has been repeatedly criticised for using the language of ‘both sides’ to obfuscate who is to blame in multiple conflicts, notably in Ukraine but also in Syria [Link] [Link] [Link] [Link]

The Stop the War org has been widely criticized for a fringe view on Russia’s war, ignoring Russia’s responsibility for the war, for escalations, and for its numerous war crimes, for blaming NATO, for making demands benefitting Russia, and for taking Russia’s side.
