The British Empire controlled a much smaller surface than the image implies, never occupied the whole Canada, Africa or Australia. The map lies blatantly. The King of Spain Phillip II’s empire was much larger. And in 1810 it controlled most of the Americas, and Philippines [Link] [Link]

Proposed note makes the claim that UK never controlled Canada and Australia as shown in the picture. While the UK never controlled that land, Canada and Australia did while being part of the Empire. Canada and Australia never left the "Empire" and remain part of its modern from.

To the hurt Spaniard - I am afraid it is in fact your note that's blatantly incorrect. The British Empire did control the whole of Canada and Australia, and as for Africa, the tweet makes no such claim. [Link] [Link]
