The post needs context. What Elon Musk here references as a hoax debunked by Snopes, is not whether Trump said "There were very fine peopls on both sides", as there is clear record of this, but whether he also spoke for Nazis present at the protest. Trump issued a condemnation. [Link]

The hoax is not a claim that Trump never said that there were fine people on both sides. However Trump did immediately clarify that he was not talking about the neo-nazis and condemned them completely. OP is perpetuating this hoax by cutting the video off before he said it. [Link]

The posted video is edited to omit the part where Trump specifically says he's not talking about the neo Nazis and White Supremacists [Link]

NNN- The post is an written letter to Elon, thus should be considered a personal opinion and is akin to an editorial. In addition, the community should not be writing notes for content not in the post/ addressed in the post.

NNN. It can reasonably be argued that everyone who attended the Unite the Right Rally was a white supremacist and that therefore Trump saying there were in fact ‘fine people’ on that side comes down to calling these white supremacists ‘fine people’. See: [Link] (editor’s note); [Link] [Link]

Trump said that he condemns new nazis and white supremacists, but that part was removed. Snopes debunked this and the full clip is below. In the first link. Also, the second link clearly demonstrates at 2:00 Trump condemning the actions of the extremists. 1. [Link] 2. [Link]
