There are two sexes—male and female—defined for anisogametic species as producing small and large gametes respectively. To date, no objective definition of sex has been offered which considers sex a continuous quantity, as is needed for it to follow a bimodal distribution. [Link] [Link]

Community note addresses sex, but the comic in the post is regarding gender. They are two unrelated concepts.

NNN; an advancing theory is that sex traits can be measured on this scale, with certain traits created by male or female gametes in humans causing different and overlapping features. [Link] Also, it should be noted the final panel is referring to the difference between sex and gender.

NNN. Not only does the proposed note ignore the difference between sex and gender, but they also ignore the existence of intersex people. Some people born with physical characteristics that do not match the male/female binary, such as people born with both genitals. [Link]

That there are two gametes is relevant only to talk about “2 sexes” regarding roles in reproduction, not to talk about the biological sex of individuals (their overall biology). (Hermaphrodite animals illustrate this difference between reproduction sex and individual sex.) [Link] [Link] [Link]
