Current law penalizes soliciting prostitution with minors with jail time and fines. SB 1414 removes the requirement of knowing the minor’s age, increases penalties to 2-4 years in state prison with fines up to $25,000, and mandates 10-year sex offender registration. This video misinterprets the Post article from May 2024, and falsely claims SB 1414 is a new law imposing a 2-day minimum sentence for soliciting a minor. The minimum sentence before SB 1414 was 2 days. SB 1414, if passed, will increase, not reduce, that sentence. [Link][Link] NEEDS_MORE_RATINGS(0-0-0) Author
