The nearly 16M (15.8M) jobs created total is missing important context. The July 2024 figure is 6.414M higher than the Feb. 2020 peak of employment before COVID-19 forced big shutdowns and layoffs. It’s more accurate to say nearly 10M jobs were recovered and over 6M created. [Link]

The author of the note suggesting that inflation isn’t down because prices are still rising does not understand inflation. Lower inflation means prices are increasing at a slower rate. The author of that note is describing prices going down, which is deflation. [Link]
