Abraham settled Canaan the region of modern day Israel. After WW1 Britain was given what we know today as Israel & Jordan It was called Palestine after the Roman Empire's Palestina. After WW2 Great Britain’s former Palestinian was divided into Jewish and Arab states. [Link] [Link]

Tel Aviv has never belonged to a Palestinian state or been majority Arab It was founded by the Yishuv (the representative body of Jews in Palestine under the Ottoman Empire at the time) in 1909. Since then, it has always been majority Jewish and has been Israeli since 1948. [Link]
