According to the most recent (2021) census, immigrants made up 23% of Canada’s total population. [Link] That is up from 21.9% as of 2016. [Link] Even adding 2021-2024 immigration data, and dividing by Canada total population (41.2m) immigrants as a % of total remains 24% in 2024.

The proposed notes are non sequiturs. The original post isn't talking about "Immigrants." It's discussing "Foreign Born Share" of the population, which includes both "Immigrants" and "Non-Permanent Residents" The most recent data shows 3,002,090 Non-Permanent Residents. [Link]
