The post claims the submarine sank due to an open hatch. However this is false, as INS Arihant does not have any hatch & is based on a Russian double-hull design. Further, the article in the image also does not state that the submarine sank. [Link][Link][Link] NEEDS_MORE_RATINGS(6-0-6) Author

Existing note claims there's no hatch on the submarine, which is absurd, and article doesn't mention hatch. The article from NI (the article being screenshot) clearly mentions the hatch and sources it's open status. [Link] NEEDS_MORE_RATINGS(3-0-1) Author

NNN. The article is referring to the 2017 accident on the nuclear powered submarine INS Arihant. Multiple sources have made similar claims and "the Indian Ministry for Defence refused to deny the allegations". [Link][Link] NEEDS_MORE_RATINGS(5-0-0) Author

Misinformation! The submarine has no hatches there. The Arihant is based on a Russian double-hull design with a sealed nuclear reactor section. Except for the latest French nuclear submarines, no other country has nuclear submarines with such a system. [Link] NEEDS_MORE_RATINGS(5-0-5) Author

The NI article links to a source article which mentions a hatch was left open on the "rear left side". However, like most nuke subs, this one doesn't have a hatch *there*, calling into doubt the accuracy of this claim.
