The UK already has legislation which creates offences of stirring up religious hatred. This applies to all religions and atheism and was introduced by the Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006. [Link]

This post uses the misleading term 'Islamophobia'. A phobia is an irrational fear, yet many groups in society have real & genuine reasons to fear Islam, such as non-Muslims, women, gays, atheists and apostates. Therefore it is wrong to describe a fear of Islam as irrational. [Link]

NNN One community note is objecting to the word 'Islamophobia' which for better or worse is in the dictionary. Other notes may have value as background comments but the post isn't misleading just because people think that this is a bad/unnecessary proposal. [Link]

The aim of the Blasphemy Act of 1697 was repealed after 270 years in 1967. The common law offences of blasphemy and blasphemous libel were formally abolished in England and Wales in 2008. We don’t need blasphemy brought back in 2024. [Link] [Link]

distinguished tree owl. Just because a word appears in the dictionary, does not mean it actually exists. The word Unicorn also is found in the OED, but it is fair to say, that Unicorns, like "Islamophobia" are made up entities.... [Link]
