Incorrect assertion in the post. GST is applicable on sale of cars by businesses where there is a markup pricing done by businesses over and above the buying price. Depreciated sale value will not be covered under GST [Link]

This point has been repeatedly clarified by the Government as well as leading media publications such as Economic Times, Business World etc. The author is a known Government baiter and seems to be driven by his political agenda rather than facts. [Link]

GST on sale of used cars was always paid by dealers, not customers selling their cars. The rate has increased from 12% to 18% for dealers, however private consumers never paid GST on sale of their privately used cars. The OP misleads by suggesting consumers are affected. [Link]

This person's peddling lies. The GST is applicable only on the profit margin, not the negative difference. If you sell your car for less than the purchase price, no GST is levied on the loss. The example shared is incorrect. [Link]
