No note needed. A politician's Left vs Right political leanings are not completely subject to the party they're a member of. However, many policies passed by Trudeau, like the recent semi-auto rifle ban expansion, would fall under the umbrella of "Leftist" policy. [Link]

Proposed NNN is silly and obviously biased. Saying Trudeau is a “leftist” because he supported a semi-automatic weapons ban is in direct contradiction to actual leftist/ Marxist ideology which supports the right of citizens to own firearms to be able to combat oppression. [Link]

Objectively speaking, Trudeau’s policy making is not considered leftist. Trudeau’s policy closely follows that of the Liberal Party, not Canada’s leftist party, the NDP [Link] [Link] [Link]

NNN- the contours of "leftism" and whether Tudeau falls within them are a matter of personal opinion insofar as "leftism" is used by rightists to denote extreme opposition to their values or even as a somewhat derogatory synonym for liberalism [Link]
