The 1st C.N. defends the paper & it's later correction. Evidence immediately available would have proven the victim was struck by a car in a hit-and-run. They suspects struck-and-fled from another car that was being driven, one block earlier. This was just bad journalism. [Link]

Bitcoiners have not "admitted" such. Purchasing, sending, and self-custodying are simply processes for most. The ETFs allowed millions of people to purchase with their retirement accounts, which they couldn't do before. It also allows pension funds to purchase & hold BTC [Link]
