Community Notes is leaning off-mission & this is a prime example. Curating content is the job of a PUBLICATION, not a free platform ruled by section-230. ALL of these notes belong in the comments section only. Serve better by developing a comment rating system like Reddit.

OPINION: This subject is highly controversial & anonymous community notes writers can be problematic. All the notes I read here belong in the comments section. “Notes” can be abused by folks with agendas to get early top-comment promotion. It needs a “this is a comment” box.

OPINION This is clearly an opinion. It doesn’t need massaging by a reviewing community. Even the two notes here were actually arguing here - both belonged in the comment section IMHO. If anything, notes should improve the information and not just become prioritized comments.

Comment on the rating process itself: One of these notes was a note to the tweet. The other was a note to the note. Both should have been comments. Community notes needs a “should have been a comment” box as many of the notes I read belong as comments, not notices, IMHO.

This - like almost all Tweets I’ve seen - doesn’t need any notes at all. Every note I’ve seen recently belongs in the comment section.

Community Notes is a dud. It is, as one note writer put it, mostly a “waste of people’s time”. Put energy toward a comment ranking system instead like Reddit has. This is just more “Twitter insider” system gaming from people who want to have their opinions elevated over others’
